Princesse, a Project 2012 horse (also called Taquine). Princesse is a Normandy Cob; with Printemps, she was driven by Jakki during the 2012 Caravan of Hope project.

SLL and all at the Diamond Centre are devastated by the sad loss of Princesse who died as the result of colic on 21 September 2014.

RIP beautiful Princesse.

Princesse was donated, with Seth, to THE DIAMOND CENTRE for DISABLED RIDERS RDA Carshalton, Surrey.

July 2013:

“Excellent news – we are making good progress with Princesse and our new carriage driving activities.

We have just received a Lottery Award – “Awards for All” for just over £6,000. This brings our funding to £13,275 which will cover training for Princesse, keep her for a year and also pay for a new four wheel carriage to give even more driving capability for the group.

The movie shows Princesse in training yesterday with Hannah. We have arranged for Princesse to go to Daniel Brown in Dorking for three weeks in our summer break. She will be with Daniel late July / early August and Hannah will spend some time with him as well. It is only a short way from Diamond.

Princesse is doing really well – she is patient, responsive and a very quick learner. She was very well behaved yesterday and has not given us any problems when the staff have ridden her.

She is admired by everyone who sees her and hopefully she will come through the final training and become a star of the driving group. We have made some tentative enquires for a Hartland four wheel carriage suitable for wheelchair users or spectators. It is within our budget and we just need to wait to see how Princesse performs with Daniel and then we can get it ordered. The final stage is to have her assessed for driving and hopefully we can get that done early Autumn.”
